Daily Routine
Registration
All children get together as a group for registration. Play Leaders talk about who is at pre-school today and discuss what the children have been doing.
Activities
Various activities are set up for the children to choose from including home corner, books, puzzles, painting, play dough, construction toys, trains, cars, dressing up, water/sand, drawing etc. The activities are based on the early years foundation stage curriculum.
Active Time
This can include Music and Movement, balancing games, parachute activities or bikes.
Snack Time
The children are encouraged to eat healthily and enjoy the social aspect of eating.
Outdoor Time
Outdoor play may be tied in with a particular activity or game, or it may be simply a chance for free play and some fresh air.
Story Time
The session normally ends with a story and song time on the mat.
Outings
Throughout the course of the year, we may visit a farm shop, the pantomime, a supermarket, a library and various locations within the village.
Termly Themes
They may include traditional festivals from around the world, seasons, colours or professions. An outline of themes can be found on the pre-school newsletter that is given out at the start of each term.
The best thing about Hawkesbury Pre-school has been that they have
really tailored what they do to suit my childs interests
